I began my work in jewelry-making after twenty years in a career of mathematics and computer science. Although calculating mathematics and programming computers is a left brain dominant activity, I have always enjoyed using my hands and intuition to create. I exercise these right brain qualities in my jewelry and card making. The voice of my creative brain is heard when the hammering, bending, soldering, stringing, gluing of beads, of findings, of wire is completed. My artisan jewelry is my connection with others where no computer is required! I’m excited by the infinite combinations possible when using my intuition and creative abilities to experiment with glass, metal, fabrics, and precious stones from India. Finding coherence between my right and left brain has allowed me to accomplish my goal in jewelry making, which is to create a piece that a person is proud to wear while at the same time it makes them feel beautiful, loved, treasured, or strong. These are the feelings I strive to capture with my work.
